Saturday and Sunday were spent as touristas, on foot. According to the app on my iPhone we walked 7.3 miles on Saturday equating to 21,552 steps (for you Patty). We started with a walk along the malecon of Puerto Madero under the warming sun. It eventually got close to 90 degrees so we were trying to drink plenty of water. I was the only person I saw wearing a Camelbak hydration pack. Dorkey – yes, but I didn’t care. With the bright sun Deby needed to buy a pair of sunglasses. Hey, lucky for her there was a vendor on the waterfront selling Ray Ban sunglasses for only $5.00 USD. Wow, what great deals you can get here.

Buenos Aires – Jumping Right In
In April of 2013 Deby and I ended our MotoRaid II trip here in Buenos Aires after 4 months of riding from Seattle. Yesterday we returned by air and are even staying in the same hotel, the Amerian in downtown Buenos Aires. We had plenty of adventure on our journey here last time and even though this trip was shorter we still had some adventure. Continue reading
Back to South America!
On December 1, 2016 Deby and I fly to Buenos Aires, with any luck our motorcycles will arrive two days later. We can’t wait.
We completed the Trans American Trail!

What TAT ride report would be complete without a picture like this…….
The official diagnosis is a displaced fracture on the tibia, Jon has a broken leg……..
Almost Home
Yes, we made it home but not without more adventure…. I suppose that’s why they call it Adventure Riding. I’ll try to catch up on the last three days of our journey.
Espinazo del diablo
Our stay in Zacatecas was too short. Someday it would be fun to return and explore the city and surrounding areas. We were starting to get down to our last days available in Mexico and I was determined to check out one of the best motorcycle roads in the Americas, Espinazo del diablo or in English, the devil’s spine. I’ve heard about this road from many people over the years and always wanted to check it out. Continue reading
Countdown to Mexico
We leave in less than a month. I’ve been busy getting the bikes ready, oil, tires, chains, the usual stuff. I’ve completely dismantled my KTM not only to make some upgrades but just to see where everything is.
San Ignacio to El Rosario
Seriously, we couldn’t have had a better time at Ignacio Springs B&B.
Indeed, “An Oasis of Hospitality!”. Sunday evening we watched the Seahawks WIN eating a fantastic homemade dinner of lightly breaded Yellow Fin Tuna, homemade rye bread, fresh beats, mashed potatoes and salad. Just as the Hawks WON our host, Terry brought out homemade date ice cream to help in the celebration. Wow. Continue reading
Bahia Concepcion to San Ignacio
Barking dogs………… that’s what filtered in my mind as I slowly regained consciousness in our tent on the beach. This wasn’t exactly the remote, peaceful camping experience I half expected when we packed our tent, but then again, we purposely picked a spot with a restaurant that attracted the dozen or so giant RVs. Continue reading
Puerto Escondido to Bahia Concepcion
Sipping morning coffee at the poolside restaurant at the Tripui resort we discussed…. camping. For over two weeks we’ve been hauling a tent, pads, sleeping bag (one dual Big Agnes – nothing like it), coffee making equipment and extra water. We mulled over a map and decided we should camp. Less than 100 miles away was Bahia Concepcion where we were told are some of the best beaches to camp in all of Baja. Continue reading
